Crim Festival of Races: August 2026
Every August, the “Crim Festival of Races” sends thousands of runners, walkers, and wheelers through downtown Flint. Offering a 10 mile, 5K, Michigan Mile, and more, there truly is a race for everyone. Entry fees and sponsorships support the Crim Fitness Foundation’s youth running clubs, mindfulness programs, nutrition education, and neighborhood improvement for more than 20,000 Flint and Genesee County residents!
Rail Run: July 2026
The RailRun 5K is an annual Fenton race hosted by “RailYard Fenton”, in partnership with the Crim Fitness Foundation. Proceeds from the event support the Crim’s mission of community health and fitness programming across Genesee County. Runners and walkers take a three-mile course through downtown Fenton neighborhoods, and everyone finishes back at RailYard for a post-race cool-off with medals, awards, music, yard games, and local food vendors.
GB Chamber Golf: June 2026
The Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Golf Outing is the chamber’s signature networking fundraiser. The event, helps support their work in connecting Grand Blanc-area businesses while giving members and sponsors a full day of face-to-face relationship building.
Operation 600: May 2026
Hosted by the YMCA of Greater Flint, Operation 600 brings together 100 volunteers for 6 hours of community service. The donated time is spent cleaning up the iconic, Camp Copneconic, and prepares the camp for the impending influx of summer campers. Completed all in one afternoon, Operation 600 helps to keep generating those special memories at Camp for generations.
Catholic Charities St. Patrick’s Day: March 2026
Serving our community since 1941, Catholic Charities of Shiawassee & Genesee Counties supports soup kitchens, counseling, veteran services, and more. The St. Patrick’s Day boxed lunch sale is a long-running community tradition, offering a corned beef and Swiss sandwich on rye, coleslaw, a pickle, chips, and a cookie, all for only $13. The money raised helps support existing charities, and funds new meal and shelter programs.
Santa Run: December 2025
The YMCA of Greater Flint serves local youth and families through camps, fitness, and childcare, and awards scholarships so that cost is not a barrier to participating. The Santa Run sends thousands of runners and walkers, (dressed in Santa suits provided at registration), through downtown Flint each December. Routes offered are: a 5K, one-mile walk, and even a quarter-mile Reindeer Run for children. Entry fees and sponsorships fund the scholarship assistance program to remove financial barriers from those wanting to stay healthy, and fit!
U of M Flint Career Fair: November 2025
The UM-Flint career fair hosted by the College of Innovation & Technology, connects students and alumni in technical programs with regional employers. Attendees spend the event meeting with organizations face-to-face, practicing networking, and mapping their career pathways in Flint’s tech and manufacturing industries.
Whaley Cars 108 Roof Sit: August 2025
The Cars 108 Roof Sit is an annual radio fundraiser for Whaley Children’s Center. The local Flint nonprofit provides residential care and treatment for abused and/or neglected children from ages 5-17. The event consists of a 52 hour live broadcast from the roof of the Grand Blanc McDonalds, while listeners drive up and donate.
Whaley Golf Classic: July 2025
The Whaley Golf Classic is an annual golf outing run by Whaley Children’s Center. Founded in 1926, Whaley Children’s Center provides care for children ages 5-17 who have survived chronic abuse and neglect. The proceeds from this event go directly to programming and daily care for children under their care.
